- In 1995 the Malta Environment and Planning Authority turned down an application to develop a villa and a swimming pool in the same area where MEPA has now approved 23 villas and a corresponding number of swimming pools.
The decision against the development was confirmed by MEPA in October 1996 after the developers asked for a reconsideration. While the development proposed in 1995 covered a floor space of 423 square meters, the development approved in 2007 covers a massive area of 7600 square meters....(Read

| Project description statement is there to see, Mepa says

- The Malta Environment and Planning Authority said the project description statement for the tourist complex overlooking Ramla l-Hamra, in Gozo, had been available since 2005.
Journalists had the opportunity to view the documents that are still available for public scrutiny as access to such studies was in line with Mepa's obligations to environmental information.

- Flimkien Ghal Ambjent Ahjar (FAA) spokesperson Astrid Vella replied to the Malta Environment and Planning Authority (Mepa) chairman Andrew Calleja saying that the FAA will substantiate their claims once they are given access to the Mepa file on Ramla l-Hamra.
