May I join you in protesting about the unrestrained building going on in Malta leading to a situation where I and my children have lost our island to profit-hungry developers. I have lived in the UK for fourteen years and returned solely because of love of these islands. I will support fully any ENOUGH ACTION CAMPAIGN so both political parties realise that they also have to plan for our children.

The despoliation and disfigurement of the Maltese environment and countryside are so dire that urgent action is absolutely necessary. Only those who cannot or do not wish to see for themselves, or who have other selfish, partisan agendas, will object to the Concerned Citizens' Initiative or fail to support it. Those who have Malta's welfare and future at heart do need to stand up and be counted.

Hats off to you for a petition which I hope will grow beyond the Government's wildest expectations. I live in St. Julians and they have just opened the Meridian Hotel. The hotel is surrounded by residential area and access rounds are very narrow. How they are going to get coaches up to the entrance is beyond me. We are living in a building site and with more to come. They are ruining the sleepiness of this little village and slowly destroying its character. Now word has it that The Palms will make way to 300 apartments. No impact studies have been done and they'll probably bulldoze on without consideration for the people who have been living here for many years.
