6/18/2008 - The Institute for Environmental Studies is pleased to announce that the course "Wildlife and Habitats of the Maltese Islands" is being held between 18th and 27th June, 2008. This is an introductory course and does not assume any knowledge of the habitats of the Maltese Islands and associated flora and fauna. The course is open to all individuals who would like to acquire basic information on the local terrestrial environment, whether out of personal interest or to consolidate their knowledge of the environmental characteristics of the Maltese Islands.... 5/3/2008 - The Art Exhibition is to be held at the SINCLAIR STEVENSON GALLERY at 59, Trux Street, Gharb, Gozo with proceeds going to the Friends of the Sick and Elderly, OASI and Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar.

4/21/2008 - On Saturday 12th April FAA held a Quiz Night at the Black Pearl restaurant in Ta’ Xbiex which turned out to be a successful, very enjoyable evening with a turnout of around 80 keen participants.

The evening began with a couple of rounds of Bingo to warm things up, then an hour’s quiz, and finally a raffle with loads of prizes such as perfumes from Chemimart, books from Agenda, toiletries from Avon, a printer and calculators from Avantech and lovely vases from Longbow Ltd . Wine for the Quiz winners was provided by Charles Grech Ltd while Marsovin kindly provided the wine for the guests. Although the quiz questions were not evironment –based, many teams plunged into the spirit enthusiastically, christening their teams ‘DCC’, ‘ODZ’ and ‘Mistra Gate’! The quiz was contested in good spirit but very keenly, especially when a tie-break had to be held for two teams who tied for the third place.... (Read Full Article)
